Alan Gampel Retains KlingerVision, Inc. Child Prodigy Back On The US Scene As He Returns From France

May 7, 2012 New York, N.Y. – KlingerVision, Inc. announced today that it has signed Alan Gampel in order to posture the growth of his performance career in the United States. After several years abroad and limited engagements enjoying the formative years of his children, Mr. Gampel will return to the stage in the United States in several key cities to be announced shortly. KlingerVision, Inc. will be responsible for all of Mr. Gampels public relations, appearances, and engagements.

After the birth of Alans first child, he was inspired to search for innovative ways to introduce music and the arts to young people. In 2000, Alan created The Joy2Learn Foundation to improve public education by creating and providing high-quality arts content to schools free of charge, via a series of Internet based presentations, using live video and other multimedia elements in an engaging interactive format. KlingerVision, Inc. will assist with programs with Mr. Gampel for development of the Joy2Learn Foundation.

In a move that demonstrates his passion for music; Mr. Gampels interest and discoveries relating to the origins of western musical notation during the first millennium led him to complete a graduate degree in musicology at the Sorbonne in 2010. Last year, he was invited to be part of a newly created PhD program at the Institute for the Studies of the Ancient World at NYU. He is expanding this compelling research on the presence of musical signs in Greek, Hebrew, Syriac and Coptic sources from the early medieval period. Mr. Gampel currently resides in Manhattan with his wife and two children.

About Alan Gampel Alan Gampel is an American virtuoso classical pianist. He was honored with The Special Award in the Arts from UNICEF at age 8 and with the Presidential Scholars Award, presented by President Ronald Reagan at the White House, at age 16. He went on to graduate from Stanford University at age 19 and then completed a graduate degree at the University of Southern California and at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris. In 1995, Alan Gampel received the coveted Chopin Prize at the Artur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Israel. Other awards include a top prize at the Naumburg International Piano Competition in New York and the Mozart Bicentenary Prize at the Dublin International Piano Competition in Ireland.

13 Year Old Singer Charlie Dane to Perform at Mountain Jam 2012

Hunter, NY (March 14, 2012) – It was announced today that Charlie Dane, the 13 year old Oyster Bay NY born singer/songwriter , will be joining the already stellar lineup for the 8th annual Mountain Jam Festival at Hunter Mountain, NY happening from Thursday, May 31 through Sunday, June 3, 2012.

“I think that it’s awesome to be included to perform on the same stage with so many big names in music” Charlie said “playing Mountain Jam is going to be so much fun and is one of so many amazing things that are happening for me this year”

Gov’t Mule will headline Friday and Saturday nights, with the legendary Steve Winwood headlining Sunday night following performances by Michael Franti & Spearhead, Dawes, and the just-added Tedeschi Trucks Band, hot off the heels of their recent Grammy Award for Best Blues Album for their 2011 release, Revelator. Also added to the Mountain Jam 2012 lineup is a very special latenight DJ Set from James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), as well as an after-hours set from electronic jam-band, Lotus, back for their third Mountain Jam appearance.

Charlie Dane is truly a star on the rise, opening up for Eric Krasno at Sullivan Hall and for Papa Grows Funk at Hiro Ballroom at a benefit to help Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp as well as several times at The Bitter End in NYC from the recognition that she received at their “Chick Singer Night” series. Charlie has appeared on stage as a duet with the great George Porter Jr and the Runnin Pardners. She also opened up for Radiators members playing as Raw Oyster Cult at AOA in NYC.

The past two summers, Charlie has been playing at music festivals such as South By Southwest, Gathering Of The Vibes, Great South Bay Music Festival, Equifunk, the 27 and 28th annual Oyster Festivals as well as for Camps R Us and Girl Scout Summer Camps.

Electric Violinist Sarah Charness – Lady with the Pink Electric Violin

Sarah Charness, a versatile violinist since the age of four, captivates audiences with her vibrant sound and vivacious performances ranging from classical to contemporary and TOP 40.

In Spring 2010, Sarah became a member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and performed as a solo violinist for their spring national tour. Sarah has also played as a violinist for top recording artist Roger Daltrey of The Who, classical soprano Sarah Brightman and British pop singer Mika. She opened for Diana Ross at the dedication of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas and has touredfrom Hawaii to New York and Canada to Texas as a member of String Angels.

In early 2011, Sarah was invited to play the National Anthem and Time Out Show for the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden featured as one of New York’s emerging artists. Her work with nationally acclaimed DJ’s has brought her around the world and includes being a staple at The Plaza Oak Room’s “Day and Night” Brunch. Other club performances include Tenjune, Tryst of Las Vegas, The Gates, and Greenhouse.

Sarah regularly solos for the fashion elite from prominent fashion shows in New York, including Betsy Johnson, Pronovias and Vera Wang to FIT alumni party with designer Calvin Klein and fashion consultant Tim Gunn in attendance. Currently, Sarah is working on her first solo album and has released three singles, “Pink Swan,” “Tango” and “Toss the Feathers” featuring her fluorescent pink six-string electric violin.

Charitable performances include Cipriani for Mann Foundation, Samsung for City Harvest, Chelsea Art Museum for STIMUA, and the Rubin Museum for Harboring Hearts.

Accomplishments:
As a graduate of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, Sarah studied violin with Marylou Churchill, as well as voice, chamber music, and orchestral performance. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance (Violin) under the mentorship of Andrew Jennings at the University of Michigan. Sarah was awarded with a Surdna Foundation Scholarship to attend the Young Artist Orchestra and String Quartet programs at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Sarah also attended the Encore School for Strings, the Mark O’Connor Fiddle Camp, and the Henry Mancini Institute. Sarah instituted a string program in 2008 at PS 9 in Brooklyn and at PS 70 in the Bronx. She is certified in the Mark O’Connor teaching method and has assisted at his Fiddle Camp. She is currently on the faculty at the Lucy Moses School in Lincoln Center.

A three-time finalist in the New England Conservatory concerto competition, Sarah was also semifinalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, afinalist in the University of Michigan concerto and a winner in the BrocktonSymphony Concerto Competition.

Sarah’s performances have been broadcasted on WCRB 99.5 FM in Boston and National Public Radio.

Sony Music India has created a viral phenomenon, the likes of which has never been seen before in India, for the cross cultural Tamil-English musical hit Why this Kolaveri Di. Reaching over 20million hits and counting on Youtube, 3.6 million Facebook shares and #Kolaveri hash tag trending on Twitter amongst media, fans, journalists, celebrities and industry barons in just over two short weeks, Why This Kolaveri Di has become an overnight hit that has now crossed over into the international markets.

The video received 83,000 youtube views within 24hours when it was first released to now become the most viewed video on Youtube. Composed by the 21 year old Anirudh, the track is sung by Tamil superstar and now singer Dhanush. Usually used as a popular slang term amongst Tamil youth, the term Kolaveri, meaning ‘murderous rage’, is now being picked up by marketers and brands alike and people in other parts of the work as a form of expression. ABOUT CHARLIE DANE At only 12, Charlie Dane is already an accomplished singer and guitar player with 6 years of training. She first picked up the guitar at age five and practices daily.

Charlie Dane has performed live numerous times as a young amateur solo artist. She has appeared in front of large groups at venues such as the Town of Oyster Bay’s Cruise Night, local talent shows, beach resorts and restaurants. She was selected as a winner of the 2010 Town of Oyster Bay Arts Council Talent Competition and also won the Morgan Park 2010 Young Performers Talent Competition.

Charlie recently drew a huge crowd performing at LaMotta’s Shorefront Restaurant in Port Washington NY. From the recognition she received at this performance she was asked to join Premik Russell Tubbs for “A Night Of Originals” at Huntington’s Cinema Arts Centre.

Offbeat Talent – 91-year-old Ethnic Indian is Malaysia’s Oldest Composer

Kuala Lumpur, Apr 1 (PTI) Ajit Kumar Joardar, a 91-year-old ethnic Indian musician, has been recognized by Malaysia Book of Records as the oldest man to compose, produce and edit a music album. Joardar, who has no formal training in music, was recognized yesterday as the oldest man to compose, produce and edit an album.

At the age of 70, Joardar joined a meditation group which, he says, motivated him to write poems. Nine of these poems are put together into his first Hindi music album titled ”Geeton Ka Guldasta”. Joardar worked with Suresh Rogen, a well-known Indian Malaysian composer, on the music arrangements. The album was completed in three months.

Joardar said his family — his wife, a daughter and two grandchildren — was his inspiration in producing 40 song compositions, of which only the nine were included in the album. “My advice to those who are eager to venture into the world of music is to work hard and find someone to support your talent,” he said at the launch of his album here.

Joardar was born on November 29, 1919 in West Bengal. He came to Malaysia in December 1946.

Following Banaras gharana she enjoys learning & playing different strokes. Making sure to practice every day & responding to her guru‘s direction with her little fingers she has a very positive attitude. She has won Best instrumentalist award in school along with securing first position for academics last two years.
