John Legend Buys Water, Not Sugar – Nine-time Grammy® Award winner invests in healthy lifestyle company HINT, Inc.

June 29, 2011, New York, NY.  Popular recording artist, John Legend, and a group of his colleagues have invested in San Francisco-based healthy lifestyle company HINT, Inc. Legend and associates at The Artists Organization, a Los-Angeles-based artist representation firm, first discovered unsweetened HINT essence water last year at Whole Foods Markets and Starbucks Coffee Company.  They contacted HINT founders Kara and Theo Goldin to learn more about the company and its goals, and discovered that HINT was about much more than simple refreshment, but easy steps towards a healthier way of life.

Nashville, TN (June 15, 2010) – Creed has announced that to kick off the summer “20-10 Tour,” the band will perform a special show at the Hard Rock on July 26 to benefit the victims of the recent Tennessee floods.  Creed has pledged to donate 100% of their Nashville concert’s proceeds to local charity organization, Hands On Nashville (HON), which is spearheading the flood recovery efforts of thousands of volunteers in Middle Tennessee and surrounding areas.

“The 20-10 Tour” kicks offon July 28th in Washington D.C., and is named because the first 2,010 reserved seats are $20 all-in.  This means fans pay a flat rate with no added service charges, and the remaining seats will be priced at $20 or $10, plus applicable ticketing fees.

“The 20-10 Tour” will feature new songs from CREED such as “Rain,” “Overcome” and “A Thousand Faces” from Full Circle, the band’s 2009 release and first new album in eight years, as well as hits such as “Higher,” “My Sacrifice,” “With Arms Wide Open,” “One” and more.  SKILLET and THEFT will be special guests for select dates on the tour, with RED also appearing at several concerts.  A full itinerary and lineup can be found below.

South African Rocker Chic Joins the Music Fashion Project

Sacramento, Calif. –Tea Stain Clothing’s Music Fashion Project has recruited yet another top rocker adding to its’ current list of elite musicians.  Launched on August 1, 2009, the Music Fashion Project pairs some of the rock scene’s biggest names with Tea Stain Clothing to raise money for music-related charities.  Best known for her participation in CBS’ reality-show “Rock Star: Supernova”, Dilana is the newest addition to the Music Fashion Project ‘family’.  Dilana has chosen to support Rock for Kids!  Rock for Kids provides free year-round music education for children.

While music is the focus of her life, Dilana has always been devoted to helping others, especially children. With the long-anticipated release of her album InsideOut featuring Holiday, Loud Silence and My Drug, Dilana is poised to lend her support to The Music Fashion Project, a cause that combines two of her greatest passions.  In addition, Dilana is currently working on her first starring role in “Angel Camouflaged” alongside James Brolin.

Campaign to release in conjunction with new album of same name, due out late November

October 26, 2009  Los Angeles, CA Acclaimed singer/songwriter Lisbeth Scott’s new album, Hope is a Thing, is set to be released on November 10th. The new album will be available for sale on iTunes, Amazon.com, and all digital outlets as well as select venues nationwide. The disc features several collaborations with well-known composers (Harry Gregson-Williams, Nathan Barr) as well as two stirring new covers (Imagine, Hallelujah). Distributed by BFM Digital, Inc., Hope is a Thing will also feature two all-new music videos for the title track Hope is a Thing and Good to Me (originally from the 2008 film Shutter).

During this challenging economic time, Scott wanted to create a musical and visual collection that would remind people of the importance of hanging on to hopes and dreams and the simple, non-material things that open our hearts and bring us joy. Thus the music and video of “Hope Is a Thing” was born. Lisbeth also feels these concepts are often best demonstrated through innocent, youthful eyes, so along-side the album release comes the launch of an innovative web-based world-wide campaign featuring children of all backgrounds and ethnicities who express what it is they hope for in today’s world via the simple image of holding up a hand-created sign. The first phase of the campaign can be seen at www.hopeisathing.com, in the Gallery section. Over the next several weeks, children and schools from all over the world are encouraged to upload their own signs and photos to help boost the awareness of the campaign, as well as the exciting prospect of being featured in the actual music video.

The highly-anticipated music video will be directed by Joseph Greco (Canvas) and shot by Academy-award winning cinematographer Haskell Wexler, who shot such legendary films Bound for Glory, American Graffiti, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Thomas Crown Affair and many more. The video aims to give children a voice and focus on the power of hope and vision.

Following in the spirit of the campaign, a portion of proceeds of Scott’s album will go directly to the organization Education Through Music, who’s mission statement reads, At ETM, we believe every child deserves a well-rounded education… one that includes music both as a subject in its own right and as a means of supporting learning in other areas.

Scott will be promoting her new album at several upcoming appearances: 11/7 and 11/8 for the official CD and video release parties in LA at the Edgemar Theater in Santa Monica (www.edgemarcenter.org). The 11/8 show is all ages and children are encouraged to bring their own I hope for… signs. 11/20 finds Scott in Northern California with a performance at Berkeley’s Rudramandir – a center for spirituality and healing. This album is a mix of new versions of old classics, Dona Nobis Pacem (which Yo Yo Ma calls “Beautifully performed”) and Oh Come All Ye Faithful, as well as original songs. Infused with Lisbeth’s shiver-inducing vocals and arrangements, this album gets to the true healing heart of the holiday season. The daughter of two award winning ball room dancers, Lisbeth Scott was raised as a classical pianist, rehearsing hours a day and headed for a concert career. She studied at The New England Conservatory, Connecticut College and The University of London throughout the 1990′s. Lisbeth decided to head out to Los Angeles where she really began to discover her voice… as did the film world. Fall2009 Season Is One Of Giving Back As Royal Underground Donates
One Item For Each Item Sold

Los Angeles, CA (August 24, 2009) In an effort to ‘give back’ this Fall2009 season, Royal Underground will donate a piece of clothing for each piece of the Fall collection sold through retail partners Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Holt Renfrew and Ensemble during the months of August, September and October, 2009. All donations will go to Covenant House California with whom the brand’s Nikki Sixx and Kelly Gray have a long standing relationship of support. Sixx was presented with the Covenant House California Leadership Award for this commitment to homeless youth in 2008 at which time he presented the organization with a check for $250,000 to create the Running Wild in the Night Music Program at Covenant House California with proceeds from his New York Times Bestseller, THE HEROIN DIARIES, A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star and additional donations.

Commented Nikki Sixx, “I love Covenant House because they love the kids.  There was a point in my life when I had nowhere to go and I am committed to continuing my work to support the organization and the kids who go there.”

“During these times, Nikki and I feel that it is important to give something back,” said Kelly Gray, co-founder of Royal Underground.

Established in 1988, Covenant House California has opened its doors to more than 145,000 homeless youth who suffer from the trauma of trying to survive on the streets. Covenant House California’s mission in its Hollywood and Oakland programs is to protect and safeguard all children of the street with absolute respect and unconditional love. This is achieved through comprehensive street outreach services and residential programs.

Each piece from the Fall2009 Collection, hitting stores mid-August, will be ticketed with a special hang tag that describes this endeavor.

COUNTING CROWS + NON-PROFITS = FREE TICKETS

Counting Crows and the band’s non-profit organization, the GreyBird Foundation, are partnering with regionally-based non-profits around the country to give away free tickets to their shows, as well as CDs and signed posters, in the cities where the band will not be on tour.

Counting Crows are currently out with Augustana and Michael Franti & Spearhead on the Traveling Circus and Medicine Show tour.  Each day, as the tour bus pulls up, a non-profit in that city will hide an envelope for the lucky winner to find.  Adam Duritz will be tweeting clues to their 600,000+ Twitter followers as to where to find the envelope.

The New York-based group creates 100% eco-friendly jewelry that rocks—literally, turning used guitar strings from artists spanning the musical spectrum into stylish bracelets, which are sold with a certificate of authenticity.  “These are strings that these musicians have used and would normally throw away,” says co-president and designer Hannah Garrison, “It’s great that we can recycle them and also offer people a chance to wear rock n roll on their writsts.”  In addition, the fine silver used on each bracelet is also 100% recycled, as is the DVD case each bracelet comes in.

A portion of each sale is donated to charities like Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation and The Grateful Dead-affiliated Rex Foundation.

The bangle-style bracelets, crafted from guitar strings donated by over 150 artists, include such rock luminaries Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend, as well as members of Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket, Metallica, Phish, The Allman Brothers Band, Death Cab for Cutie and Social Distortion. In addition, the likes of Marley, Jack Johnson, Carrie Underwood, Zakk Wylde and Ani DiFranco have recently donated strings to WEAR YOUR MUSIC.

“Supporting good causes and the environment have always been important, but even more so now,” says Garrison.
