Boston, MA, March 7, 2012— Berkleemusic.com, the online school of Boston’s renowned Berklee College of Music, is launching Rock History, an online course that chronicles the evolution of one of the greatest periods of music. Rock History takes an-depth look at the highs and lows of rock over the past 60 years; the key heroes and villains, the movers and shakers from the studio and the concert stage, and a behind-the-scenes look at the managers, industry executives, promoters, and cultural trends that shaped it. The course launches April 2nd, 2012.

Berkleemusic has tapped Steve Morse to author and teach Rock History. Morse brings a lifetime of real-world experience to the material. Steve was the senior rock writer at the Boston Globe for over three decades, and has contributed to other top-tier press outlets such as Billboard and Rolling Stone. He has also served on the nominating committee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Steve has a rich background in Rock History, having interviewed and developed strong, decades-long ties with dozens of the most important artists and bands in rock, including the Rolling Stones (first seeing them in 1966), U2, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Metallica, Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton, Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Tom Petty, and many more.

Geils Band and Aimee Mann); and English super-session drummer Dave Mattacks. Berkleemusic has also partnered with Wolfgang’s Vault to provide additional rare audio, video, and other forms of historical rock media presented in an educational context for the very first time

Vicenza, Italy – Alberto Quadri, rock musician and internet music collaborator, has launched his website The Quadri Project. As a well-known bass player in various music communities, Quadri wants to open his door to other rock musicians around the world with the intention of giving them a little additional promotion.

According to Quadri, It’s extremely difficult to get noticed these days as there are more bands than ever before vying for fans. And, with the internet’s ability to let any band go international, the more places you can expose your music, the better your chances.

As a regular music collaborator, Quadri creates music with musicians through virtual studios and calls Kompoz his recording studio away from home. He’s offering all his personal music on his website as freedownloads and these are definitely worth checking out. “I’m open to any collaboration, live or online, and currently work with musicians from around the world, so please send me an email and let’s talk about your project he says.

For those rockers interested in a little more promotion, Quadri will set up a band biography on his page with links to your sites and will push you through his social networks, at no charge to you. The site will be up and running on Wednesday May 11th .

Alberto Quadri, born and raised in Vicenza, Italy in the early 70s, has been immersed in music since the age of 12. Some of his greatest influences were the artists of that era: Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. His favorite concert was Ozzy Osbourne and not because Ozzy was a Crazy Man but because he played from his soul and didnt need any special effects to put on an incredible show. It was just him with his music, face to face with hundreds of screaming fans. You know true talent when the flashing lights, smoke and special effects get in the way of heart and soul and pure energy.

For the last three years, Alberto has been going full tilt with his music. The first two in a band called 5 in Condotta. In Italian that means you are not good at school, playing Cranberries Cover. He currently plays with the band Baby, I’m Bored doing covers from Dandy Warhols, Republica, Holes, Caridgans and others. And, through the virtual studio Kompoz creating original songs.

WASHINGTON, D.C., (August 13, 2009) – EarthEcho International, an nonprofit environmental education and youth leadership organization working to restore and protect the world’s oceans, today announced a collaboration with the Vans Warped Tour and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary to clean up the waterways surrounding Monterey Bay on August 18, 2009.

The third annual clean up will be led by more than 100 band and crew members from the Vans Warped Tour (http://www.warpedtour.com), the music industry’s most successful and longest-running domestic touring festival. It is part of a program that EarthEcho International is piloting with the Vans Warped Tour to engage pop culture heroes as champions for ocean conservation through the pioneering use of custom online technologies that can be used to meaningfully engage people in pro-environmental action in live-event settings and in their communities. Bands participating in this year’s clean-up include Big D and the Kids Table, The A.K.A.s, Therefore I Am, TAT and The Architects.

“Ocean protection, conservation and restoration is the defining environmental crisis of the 21st century,” said EarthEcho International Co-Founder and CEO Philippe Cousteau. “Over the next 50 years, we must embrace the new promise of just, healthy, and abundant Oceans. EarthEcho International’s program with the Vans Warped Tour will inspire a whole new generation to take action to restore and protect our water planet.”

The clean up is one way for bands to be a part of “Warped ecoRoadie” (http://www.warpedecoroadie.com), a digitally-driven series of eco-challenges, in which bands and fans of the Vans Warped Tour will work together on teams to “clean up their acts” and have the biggest environmental impact. Throughout the course of this summer’s tour, EarthEcho has provided bands with online tools to communicate a range of action opportunities to their fans before, during and after the Vans Warped Tour, and to track and report on the collective impact of the direct action responses to these calls-to action. But the eco-challenges aren’t just for rock stars – anyone can participate. The result: events like the Vans Warped Tour are turned into catalysts for greening action nationwide.

Following is a schedule of events on August 18 for media planning purposes:
·         8:45 am PT: Participants meet leaders, divide into four groups and depart for sites.
·         9:30 am PT: Orientation at site, which will provide a general introduction to the sanctuary/watersheds, and how the activity they are doing helps protect the environment and sanctuary.
·         10:00 am -12:30 pm PT: Field activities – “CLEAN UP, PAINT, PLANT” – at these locations:

o    Bureau of Land Management
o    Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District
o    CSUMB’s Watershed Institute/Return of the Natives
o    Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Stormwater & Education Alliance

· 12:30 pm ET: Participants depart.
· After the clean up, participants will have the opportunity to tour the Monterey Bay Aquarium, throughout the day.

New Delhi, May 11: Did you know that as a self-taught guitarist, the left-handed Jimi Hendrix played a right-handed guitar turned upside down and re-strung it to suit him? Or that before finally becoming “Pink Floyd” the band was also known as Sigma 6, The Screaming Abdabs, The Megadeaths and Tea Set?

All this and more in the much awaited, History Rocks III, that’s back on FOX History & Entertainment. This time, with hotter riffs, cooler concerts, top of the order rock bands and their thrilling stories. Starting May 15, every Friday at 10.30 PM, History Rocks III will take a whirlwind look at the greatest stars in rock history. Premiering this season are Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Pink Floyd and The Doors.

A sixteen-part series, History Rocks III is dedicated to the definitive sound of legendary rockers. This May, FOX History & Entertainment allows music lovers a peek into the lives of rock legends and devour their biggest concerts. Featuring this season is Jimi Hendrix’s legendary performance at the Woodstock festival; Queen’s live performance to a jam-packed Wembley Stadium; Pink Floyd’s electrifying do of what is considered their best album ever amongst others.

Commenting on the return of History Rocks, Sudha Sadhanand, Vice-President, Programming, FOX History & Entertainment said, “In its third season, fans of History Rocks are going to see a very different show – combining the trivia and stories of their days of classic rock with entertaining concerts of their favourite rock legends. You will see what makes these rock legends the gods of rock. From the heaviest riff drippers to the most beautiful ballads – every episode here has those thrills.”

The renewed programming strategy will be supported by top of the line marketing and viewer outreach initiatives. Rajesh Sheshadri, Sr. Vice-President, Content & Communication, agrees: “History Rocks is one of our most important properties on FOX History & Entertainment. We have broadbased our marketing initiatives for the show this year through a three-city concert, exclusive History Rocks quizzes, consumer contests and a multitude of History Rocks memorabilia for fans and viewers.”

The History Rocks III consumer contest will be centered on finding the truest disciple of the Gods of Rock. Fans will be invited to send in videos and still photographs to claim the ‘Truest Bhakt’ title and in store for them is an original Gibson “Les Paul” guitar.

As part of the on-ground initiatives, there will be three rock concerts in the month of May with Parikrama in Delhi, One Track Mind in Mumbai, and Galeej Gurus in Bengaluru.
