Mumbai, September 24th: In an event organized by Ad Club of Bombay today Mr. Anuj Singh, National Marketing Head & Station Head (Mumbai), RED FM received the Young Achiever Award for ‘Business Leader’ for his outstanding skills in business and creative intellect.
These awards were introduced by Ad Club for the first time this year to felicitate CEOs and CMOs for their commendable effort in taking their organizations to success and recognition. The awards have been created to recognize and encourage young talent in the advertising and marketing communications industry. From a small town boy to the National Marketing Head of RED FM, Anuj Singh has come a long way. He joined RED FM in 2006 as Head of Marketing – Mumbai at a time when RED FM was going through a change in management and a refurbishing of the brand and its philosophy.
In the course of his tenure, Anuj has been instrumental in conceptualizing and executing numerous successful marketing strategies and campaigns which include the now famous ‘Touch Points’ strategy of Anytime Anywhere Marketing and award winning campaigns like the Red Mike which led RED FM to the numero uno position in Mumbai in RAM. Amongst the other campaigns of RED FM where he has played a pivotal role, are, the award winning Bajaao for a Cause & the Bajaate Raho Awards.
At Red FM, Anuj has been responsible for establishing and raising the bar of the marketing function to unprecedented heights. He has been a part of the core team which has led Red FM from success to success, be it the numerous Awards and Accolades such as the Emvies for the Best Media Marketer in 2006, ERA for the Best FM Brand in 2008, the nomination for the Emvies for the Best Media Strategy in 2008 or RED FM’s consistent No.1 position in Mumbai since the inception of RAM last year.
Post receiving the coveted award, Anuj Singh said, “I am really happy to receive this award, and am very grateful to my mentor Mr. Abraham Thomas for his guidance and support. Anuj Singh joined RED FM as the Marketing Head, Mumbai in 2005, and rose in the ranks to become the National Marketing Head & Station Head of Mumbai in a short span of time. He has been instrumental in developing exceptionally successful campaigns including the Touch Point Media Strategy of ‘Anytime Anywhere’ marketing, amongst others.

Having had the privilege of working with the cream of the crop of the media industry, such as Sumantra Dutta, Farokh Balsara, & Abraham Thomas, Anuj has been able to imbibe a lot of strategic insight under their leadership. Prior to working with RED FM, Anuj has been associated with prestigious institutes like IIM-A and MICA as a research analyst, he has also co-authored a case study on Media for IIM-A. His past work experience include, the well reputed consultancy Ernst & Young where he worked as a Senior Consultant in the Media & Entertainment Practice Group and well known media brands such as the TIMES OF INDIA and the STAR TV GROUP (Radio City) where he worked in the areas of strategic planning and marketing.
Anuj has always been passionate about working in the Radio Industry and his vast repertoire of experience certainly proves it. He has been actively involved in the launch of numerous radio stations, the development of Radio Measurement & Radio Monitoring systems, has been invited as a part of esteemed jury and panels at various industry forums and conferences and has presented prestigious white papers on various topics related to Radio Industry.
Along with his current profile, Anuj is pursuing his PhD degree in Media and is also currently authoring a book on the Media industry. As a distinguished media person and academician at heart, Anuj actively shares his vast repertoire of knowledge with students of various premier B-Schools in India and abroad as a visiting faculty.
