The Sawai Gandharva Music Festival, Pune

What: The Sawai Gandharva Music Festival is one of the most important and largest Indian Classical Music Festivals of India that takes place every year in Pune India.

What began as a festival to commemorate the first anniversary of Sawai Gandharva’s death in 1952 has continued over the years to become one of the most attractive venues for some of the leading vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers. Most of the singers taking part also belong to other gharanas of music.

When: This festival is organised in the first 2 weeks of December, every week.
